Philosophy of Education

My philosophy of education is based upon my strong belief that education provides the tools to succeed in life and is essential to the development of positive values and principles within each student.  Therefore, as an educator and administrator, my goal is to provide a positive learning environment that is enjoyable, motivating, and inspiring for each individual.  I strive to instil mutual respect and appreciation for others while directing students and staff towards making effective decisions and establishing a clear vision of success.  Education and discipline promote responsibility and achievement, and through these objectives, I hope to assist in guiding students to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to reach their full potential.

My teaching and administrative style revolves around a standards-based and goal-oriented learning environment.  I believe that in order for students to learn effectively they must be immersed in the learning process.  Therefore, I promote a participatory classroom that incorporates hands-on activities and resources relevant to real life experiences.  When students can relate to classroom material and apply it to their lives, then learning has occurred and retention of class content is inevitable.  My greatest strength as a teacher and administrator is my ability to communicate effectively with students and motivate them in achieving any goal set before them.  By continually presenting opportunities for growth through the design and integration of stimulating activities, social interactions, and problem-solving situations, I hope to equip young people with the knowledge and skills to become productive and successful adults.

My goal as a teacher and administrator is to be remembered as someone who created a productive and fun learning environment, who instilled a strong work ethic within each of them, and who opened their eyes to the possibilities that life has to offer.
